Harveys hold aces over Kings
Harveys Bar 3 Kings Arms 1
Home scorers:- Goodall, Newton, Wraith

Harveys got back on track at home despite a big headache for manager Betney who was he was missing seven of last week's starting eleven.

Players stepped up to the plate with new signing Taylor and first game for striker Wraith since joining the club in the summer.

Harveys started the game in usual fashion on the back foot which frustrated manager Betney. King Arms, to give them credit came out with a game plan to get men forward, but the new look defence and Swift turning from centre forward to goal for this game saw the scoreline at half time 0-0.

Little action in the first half from either side had to spark something in the team talks. It was Harveys who came out started to play football with Woodhouse and David Goodall leading from midfield.

Kings had there best spell of the game and was using the 'Delap throw' to try and get themselves on the score sheet. In the end Harveys' defence broke down with the ball not being cleared and a brilliant solo goal saw Kings take the lead early in the second half.

Harveys needed to get going and found themselves back in the game only a couple of minutes latter when Goodall showed his skills with his own solo goal. Harveys seemed to spark into action with Goodall and Newton proving to much for the tiring Kings. It was Goodall and Maycock whose hard work set up Dom Newton's second of the season.

As Kings were tiring Harveys brought on the new boys Taylor and Wraith. It wasn't too long before they made an impact as Wriath's first touch was to hit a third goal for Harvey on the volley. Harveys withstood Kings counter-attacks towards the end and gain the much needed three points.

Experience conquers Youth
Matlock Town Youth 2 Laburnum Saints 4
Home scorers:-
Away: Charlton (2), Denton (2)

Laburnum Saints made the short trip to face in-form Matlock Youth at Cavendish Playing Fields.

After a very even start a mix up in the Laburnum defence led to Youth taking the lead. The Saints managed to withstand a period of pressure and finally got a foothold in the game with Denton and Clifton a constant threat.

An equaliser arrived when a J Sellors corner was headed in by M Charlton. Youth restored their lead just before half-time after a long ball was not dealt with, allowing S Martin to score.

The second half started with Laburnum Saints dominating the game who went in front through two goals from the impressive Pete Denton.

Matlock Youth never gave up but the experience of the Saints shone through with Charlton scoring a fourth from twenty five yards.

In all a good performance by the Saints with an unfortunate injury to R Austin being the only downside to the game.
