Harveys
earn the spoils against Tibshelf

Harveys F.C claimed
their second win of 2009-2010 campaign in a well-fought battle.
The
first half saw both side miss chances to give their side the leads. Harveys
had the better of the half but couldn't find any finishing touch with Armshaw
and Maycock not able to capitalise on any through balls. But it was Armshaw
who came closest with two shots only to be denied by the woodwork.
Tibshelf
had their chances too only to find an on-form Roose in goal and poor finishing
to put their side ahead.
After
a poor performance from both sets of strikers in the first half the second
could only get better. After Harveys first sub and a change of tactics Dave
Goodall found an opening and put the new boys in frontÊwhich came from an
Owen free-kick.
The
game got high stakes and Harveys withstood a 20 minute spell of pressure
before a loose ball found its way to Barwick who found the net and a well-deserved
goal for the left winger.
The
Anthony Wood Man Of The Mach went to Chris Gratton.
Backs
against the wall for Holloway

scorers:- Siddall
Away scorers:- Hursthouse

Holloway had their
backs against the wall before the match even kicked off with only 11 players
turning up for the game. Despite this, Holloway started brightly with Shaun
Bott forcing a good save from the Shirland keeper within the first minute.
However
Shirland's desire to get to the ball first paid off and they went 1-0 up
after around 15 minutes with a good finish. Gaz Siddall equalized with a
powerful strike into the top left hand corner from 20yds but an all to familiar
collapse saw Holloway leak 3 more goals, making the half-time score 4-1.
A
deserved half-time roasting from Gaffer Kev Carline seemed to sink in and
Holloway looked a different side. Unfortunately Shirland's defence was up
to the challenge and Holloway were unable to add to their tally, unlike
the away side who added two more to make the final score 6-1.
